Beautiful Skin Must Haves!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

-Mark Twain

Morning girls! We have had a couple busy days, as Danielle just boarded a plane to Italy & I will be following her one week from now! Our fabulous Aunt is turning 50 and got a beautiful Villa in Florence for 2.5 weeks, so we have been looking forward to this all Summer. I can't wait! Does anyone have any good tips/places to go/things to see in Italy? I would love, love, love to hear them - I want to experience all that I can!!

Anyway, I just wanted to quickly share with you my absolute must-haves for my skin (and one for my lashes...) I was going to do 5 things, but realized that I have 6 things that I have to use daily and couldn't even fathom not using them... so here are my 6 must haves!!

( starting at the top - will go clockwise)

1. Latisse. - Around $100 a bottle, but I find a nearby med-spa that is having a promo for Buy 1/Get 1 Free. (Someone is ALWAYS doing this). Also, a bottle is supposed to last about a month and I usually can get close to 2 months out of a bottle. So, I usually get about 4 months for $100. $25 a month for insane eyelashes? Sounds like a deal to me!

I love, love, love this product! I didn't necessarily have the worst eyelashes ever, but I wanted to try this to get amazing lashes and I really did. I get asked daily what I do to my lashes & if I am wearing fake ones, so I know this is working. It also makes my whole makeup routine easier - I don't have to curl my lashes and reapply mascara a million times. I literally do 1-2 swipes of mascara (Chanel Inimitable is my go-to) and my lashes look amazing. I think I got this product because a lot of days I don't do a full face of makeup, I just do powder and mascara, so this was a full-proof way for me to feel like my face looked amazing everyday! **I have brown eyes, so I haven't had any side effects as far as color changing, but if you have blue/green eyes, look into it first because it can darken your eyes.

2. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic 30ml/1 fl oz. Check it out here on Amazon - About $97.

I was getting a microderm a few months ago when my esthetician told me about this product. It is a serum that goes on under your makeup, gives you complete Broadband UVA/UVB protection, is full of antioxidants, and provides collagen rebuild. She said that if I was religious about putting on a Vitamin C serum like this, I would not ever have to think about using any type of injectable in my 40s, 50s and beyond. I was sold! This stuff is so awesome, my skin feels healthy, nourished, and so much plumper even then it did a few months ago. One bottle lasts about 4 months. Again, about $25 a month for this product - well worth it!

3. Lancome High Resolution Eye Refill - 3X - Check it out here at Neiman - $57.50

This is, again, a product I couldn't live without. We all know about the importance of eye cream - this one is just my favorite. It smells great and it is so hydrating I can literally see the skin under my eyes soaking it up. I didn't use eye cream until about a year ago, and ever since then people who I haven't seen in awhile say "You look a little different - what did you do?" I swear that it is just that my eyes look more awake and have less lines. I will never, ever not use this product. A bottle literally lasts me about 6 months, so it is a great deal. **Don't use too much eyecream, or the skin under your eyes will lighten so much you'll begin to get white spots. Use a tiny little bit, rub it together on your fingers and dab it under/next to your eyes.

4. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - Check it out here at Sephora - $45

Surprisingly, this product is probably the biggest splurge. A little bottle is $45, and doesn't get you too far (maybe a month-month and a half using 4-5 days a week...), but it is amazing. It is a celeb makeup artist favorite and there is nothing out there like it. It literally is like a cup of coffee for your face. If you are tired, had a little too much wine the night before, or just have places on your face you want to tighten, this is your stuff! It tightens your face immediately and makes you look completely refreshed and bright. It truly is amazing. I don't use it every single day just because it is expensive, but I always use it when I have an early morning/know I'm going to be taking pictures/am just not feeling my best. Another must have!!

5. Clarisonic Mia - Check it out here on their website - $149

I have heard for years, as I'm sure you have, that the key to healthy skin is cleanse, cleanse, cleanse! I always follow this rule, but after reading a lot about the Clarisonic, I took the plunge and bought it hoping to ensure that I get all of my makeup off. I have to say that I love it!! You can use any cleanser of your choice (make sure it is paraben-free...and Cetaphil is NOT!!) and it really, really cleans your skin and exfoliates. The product directions say to use this every night, but I would advise against this because your skin needs at least a full day to rebuild its oils and collagen, so it is really unnecessary to exfoliate like that everyday. Every other night is perfect! This is a little bit of a splurge, but I will have it forever and get a ton of use out of it, so for me, it is well worth it. ** I also got the Mia versus the other models because it is great and compact for traveling!

6. Clarins High Definition Body Lift - Check out the double pack here at Sephora - $45

Everyone has cellulite - we've all seen the pictures in Star magazine. Sadly, there isn't a cure for cellulite, so we can only mask it for a short time. This product is great to use just for that. I generally only use it in the Summer/when I am vacationing, but if used correctly you really can see a difference. I say use correctly because it is kind of a pain, and if you don't do it right, you won't see results. You have to massage it into the skin (I use it only on my butt and upper thighs) but you need to contract the muscles, lay in all of these different positions, and do a hard massage to make sure the product gets in the skin. You also have to use it religiously every night for at least 2 weeks to see a difference. But, if you do this correctly, you really and truly will see much less cellulite. Anyone who says it doesn't work just didn't do it right. So, if you have the time, patience, and commitment to use this stuff it really is awesome!!

Hope you guys like my products!! I know they are all on the more expensive side, but I really believe that you pay for what you get and all of these things are truly worth the money.

Have you girls tried any of these things? What do you think? Do you have any 'must have' products?? I'd love to hear about them!

florence is super awesome, one of my fav places in Italy ... you must go to the big market there, it is a food market, inside, and has every single thing you could imagine and more!! Also if you have time do yourself a favor and rent a car and drive around Tuscany, that was the best part of Italy for me ... all the little towns have such character and are just amazing to go wandering around!! I hope you have fun on your trip!!

What a nice post. I use the clarisonic system and love it. I didn't know that about Cetaphil, I used to always use that. Oh yea, I've really wanted to try Latisse but I keep waiting because of the blue eye issue :) I hope you have a great time at your Aunts bday. That sounds like SO much fun in Italy.
