"Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart"

Hi all! Hope that you are enjoying these hot Summer days! I know that I will be missing them once January rolls around...especially if it's anything like the winter we had last year here in the Northeast.
I just wanted to share some of the outfits that I wore this past weekend. Hope you like! :)
Off to church!
Purple button down shirt: H & M.
Black patterned shorts: Urban Outfitters
Bird necklace: Juicy Couture
Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (purchased at Macy's)
Shoes: Aerosoles
So, here are my thoughts on the above outfit. First of all, it's Summer, so I've obviously been watching the Bachelorette. While Ashley H. wasn't exactly my first choice for the leading lady (um, hello Emily Maynard in 2012?!), we have to admit that she looks amazing in clothes. And when I saw this blouse at H&M the other day it totally reminded me of something Ash would wear. I paired it with my Urban Outfitter shorts, which honestly are my pick item of the Summer. They are so comfy and SO cute and they give any outfit that extra something. Whenever I go to pair something with plain black shorts, I always try it first with the patterned ones and it almost always completely changes the look. I bought them much earlier in the Spring, and just saw them the other day in the Urban Outfitters sale room - aka my Mecca - for like $14.99 (don't quote me on that but they were cheap). If I didn't already have them I would be running to King of Prussia. Right. Now. Anyway, so lastly my shoes. I know, i know.... Aerosoles? Not exactly the first brand that comes to mind when I think of cute shoes. But, these shoes are to die. They are so, so, so comfy. I wear them on EVERY summer trip I take into NYC. I can walk for blocks and blocks and more blocks and when I get home at night I feel like I've been walking on clouds with angels massaging my feet all day. Seriously. A-maz-ing.
My poor flowers after weeks of 95 + temps... :(
Blue top: High Street
Pink Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Michael by Michael Kors
Belt: SO old I can't remember where it's from :/
Earrings: Stella & Dot... I have a wonderful S&D rep - contact me for details!
Bag: Gucci!! My recent graduation gift from the hubs. Thanks babe! :)
Color Blocking. Love it or hate it it's here to stay. At least for the remainder of 2011. I happen to love it. From the looks that I got from people at the mall when I wore this outfit, some people hate it. I think that it's so fun and bright and really lets you accentuate your personality. What fun are clothes if we are all always wearing black? Anyhow, I paired the outfit with nude strappy wedges (from genius Michael Kors) to play down the colors... and elongate my short legs. *Side note, for all of us short girls out there... How ecstatic are we about the nude shoe trend?! They are the answer to all my fat calf prayers!
P.S. I'm drinking Honest Tea Green Tea in my cup in this pic. I should be hooked up to an IV of this stuff for how much of it I drink. I can't stress enough how amazing organic, unsweetened green tea is for the body. If you've never tried it before, you should & feel the difference!
Belted Dress: Voom by Joy Han
Shoes: Charles by Charles David
Chain Bag: Target
Cuff: Forever 21
Stackable rings: Urban Outfitters
Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (from Macy's)
These pictures were taken right before I went out for date night with the hubs! We went to Lacroix in the Rittenhouse Hotel in the middle of Rittenhouse Square in Philly. For all of you that live around Philly are ever plan on visiting Philly this is the place to go. The food is incredible, the restaurant is gorgeous and overlooks the prettiest parts of Philly. This was also the first night I ever had Foie gras because we did the tasting menu and it actually was delicious. I think I had a slight panic attack when I found out it was Duck liver, but nevertheless it was delicious.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!
Lots of love,
Kat
